The Bandits - 'Once Upon A Time' / 'On My Way' (Centro Del Blanco)
3/5

Continuing their flight of the Liverpudlian resurgence and playing a fundamental role in both promoting associated artists - via their series of 'Bandwagon' live-events - and delivering wonderfully off-kilter bouts of song-based poetry, The Bandits continue a fascinating draw.
Merrily bopping along in all its Western-Mexicana-Scouse, organ-guitar classicism, part one of their double A-side second single is entirely self-assured stuff, 'Once Upon A Time' the relaxed partner to a rowdy 'On My Way', complete with six-string solos, steam-rollering bass and a defiant yell of '1, 2, 3, 4,' by frontman John Bandit that just may prompt the listener to throw their dry, malt whisky into the air.
As far off the beaten track as you can possibly venture, who knows what they'll come up with, or which sound they'll conquer, next.
