Billy Talent - 'Try Honesty' (Atlantic)

4/5

By: Toby L

Billy Talent

The sort of precision-based, frantic urgency one would associate with ye olde At The Drive-In - veering recklessly between soothing, softer cinders and ragingly pummelling, dynamic-alt - Billy Talent are the Toronto quartet your rock-DJ's and hypers of the music-world are presently tipping for considerable t'ings.

And, why not; 'Try Honesty' moves, rattles and shakes in all the right directions - barely taking a moment's breathing-space to rocket into a ferocious chorus, or prevent outlandish vocalist Benjamin Kowalewicz (yes, almost 'koala', but not quite) from launching another of his wiggling, contorting vocal-parts into the strident, devil-horned, rawk-stratosphere. An introduction you wouldn't mind see repeat itself.
