The Bluetones - 'After Hours' (Superior Quality)
3/5

In times of ever-changing music-styles and fashions, there's always one thing you can count on - and that is that The Bluetones will continue to pen songs regardless of what's in, what's out and what's, well, normal.
'After Hours' is their latest single, a refreshingly light-hearted guitar-pop track dedicated to the art of intoxication at that point in the evening when you really should be at home reading your magazine-copy of 'Gardener's World' or drifting off to sleep in front of the telly. The tune itself consists of a two-chord, chirpy piano riff and bears plenty of infectious, irresistible dashings of guitar and vocal-harmonies that scream casual 60s-class.
Naturally, though, its quirky nature hasn't ensured it any heavy placement on either TV or radio-airplay charts. Still, don't let this deter you; after all, it's the musical equivalent of a typical, British Sunday roast-dinner: well-done, warm, highly satisfying - and you just may want seconds...
