The Boxer Rebellion - 'Watermelon' (Poptones)
4/5
By: Toby L

The sound of revolution is no quiet one; seemingly, The Boxer Rebellion understand and abide by this basis.
The latest signings to music-industry mogul Alan McGee's Poptones imprint, this London quartet are the chilling amalgamation of McGee's prior-signed Primal Scream and an even more paranoid, haunted Radiohead: an airy, widescreen, panoramic-view of cascading, avalanching guitars and devilish urgency, a dashing of innovation sprinkled on top.
Just a debut-single, 'Watermelon' is contagious anarchy with ambition to boot. Yikes. May the world ready itself for some new, potential heavyweight contenders to the throne of epic Brit-morbidity.
