Caesars - 'Fun & Games EP' (Virgin)

3/5

Caesars - 'Fun & Games'

No doubt part of Scandinavia's recent influx of subversive alt-talent, Caesars are perhaps the most peculiar of the newly-arrivals, holding to their heart an undeniable knack of piecing together faultless, melodic refrains, whilst bringing forth a debut-EP with as much classical, whimsical grace as their 60's predecessors.

Yet, it's behind the overly poppy gleam of lead-track 'Fun & Games' that they specifically form a unique alliance with the listener, with the more delicate embers of 'Crackin' Up' or closing 'Since You've Been Gone' scoring points for infectious song-crafting and obscure arrangements alike.

A serious proposition to maintain a watchful eye out towards for the future, the 'Fun & Games EP' is a very joyful start indeed to a truly unexpected scene-addition.
