Clams - 'Stray' (Bossmusic)
3/5
By: Toby L

There's a lot to be said for the resurrection of fuzzy, Sabbath-esque twiddling and Maiden-evoking grandeur: namely, that it's f**king fashionable at the moment.
So enter Clams - a youthful trio with disparagingly-sized hair and even more distressingly massive ambition. They clash the commercial-rock edge of the 'Vana with its eventual incarnation, of Grohlie's 'Fighters (check lead-track 'Stray' of their debut-release), and simmer it to well-honed, far-reaching, epic wonderment (examine instrumental demo-recording b-side, the acoustic slump of 'Capricorn').
Much like their forefathers - big hair. And possibly, too, a big future.
