Eerie, brooding, and yet somehow very English. Brighton four-piece Clearlake's grandiose double-helping of indie-goth rock is simply too posh to be scary, but maybe that's not such a bad thing.
Sounding like Morrissey covering Nick Cave, Jason Pegg's peculiar blend of slightly twee Anglicism ('The mind is evil/It makes me do all those unspeakable things') and darker subject-matter is an intriguing thing indeed.
