'Goodbye' is just about the most conventional thing the young Merseyside six-piece have put their name to so far; but, then again, that's akin to saying that 'Mr. Writer' was the most innovative single from the last Stereophonics' LP...
Although 'Goodbye' features a cappella choruses that wouldn't have sounded out of place in The Cavern circa 1962, the lads' now customary cascading guitars and aslant-pop shines through exquisitely, more than dignifying the hype that's surrounded their career already.
July 29th - the date that the guys' eponymous debut is released: it really just can't come quickly enough.
