Cosmetique - 'Straight To Video' (PPQ)

As obscure and pathetically underproduced as you can muster a recording to be these days, Cosmetique's 'Straight To Video' possesses its saving-grace within a mantra-like repetitive sentiment, as specified in the song-title, and its charmful electronica instrumentation, which is as wildly vibrant as a turned-off hairdryer.
Better still is the minutely lasting 'The Dream Is Over', complete with a grindingly irresistible, recurring riff and yet more of Justin and Sarah's unobtrusive vocal-offerings.
Whilst hardly likely to gatecrash into the top-40, Cosmetique's brand of minimalist-pop is, ironically, just the sort of substance needed to pulverise the S Clubs of our time from here into kingdom come. Sadly, however, the mainstream - most likely - will be largely unconvinced by such attempts.
