Crackout - 'Out Of Our Minds' (Hut)
3/5
By: Toby L

Back after a hiatus, working on the band's upcoming, second album, puzzling rock-trio Crackout are seemingly undecided as to whether they simply want to cause a riot, or spin off an inoffensive indie-treat.
The sort of cheeky, blaring, mildly silly, delivery that you'd expect from a mid-90s era Blur single, 'Out Of Our Minds' is a joyous romp of 'Waking up with black eyes' and other such suspect sentiments, provided with a not-entirely-forgettable, chirpy guitar-bounce that's, non-surprisingly, resulted in considerable MTV-rotation.
Whether a whole album's worth of such a formula could manifest to their favour is yet to be seen, but - for a two and a half minute stomp - there's not much missing here in the way of wayward airhead-pleasure.
