Donots - 'Big Mouth' (BMG)

Donots - 'Big Mouth'

On the pop-punk sea, surf is most definitely up. With the tidal-wave of chunky guitar riffs and radio-friendly choruses flooding all and sundry, the best thing to do is to enjoy splashing around in it. Donots (pronounced 'Do Nots') aren't exactly making the waves, but they're riding them with some pretty flashy surfboards.

So the emphasis here, it comes as no surprise, is on a good time. But from five German punk rockers in white suits that can all just about get away with wearing sunglasses indoors, what else can you expect? Their recent touring partners (The Offspring, Lagwagon, AFI, the list goes on in a similar vein) will give you a further idea of what to expect from 'Big Mouth' - yup, that's right: some fat guitar hooks and a killer chorus all delivered at a jubilant jump-around-the-classroom ferocity in little over three minutes.

Sophistication, philosophy, profundity, insightfulness... those are, like, some long words, man. We don't want any of that here. Donots are too busy pogoing around in their sunglasses. It might not bring you intellectual stimulation, granted. But it does sound like a right laugh.
