One can only speculate haphazardly as to just what runs through the minds and veins of Sunderland's youngest rock-chap entrants of late, The Futureheads.
'PIECE OF CRAP,' they frantically blurt upon b-side, er, 'Piece of Crap', whilst lead-track 'First Day' marries frustrated, steamed-up hooks with grappling vocal-refrains and a tongue-in-cheek homage towards the monotonous, modern-day office-job (name-checks of suspect 'canteens', et al).
XTC enlaced with a touch of peak-era The Jam (when Weller had more youthful huff in his chest than older-man righteousness), the band's third release to date shows no signs of slowing; aptly, the whole three-song experience only lasts four-minutes, fifty seconds - every one of them utterly, preciously indispensable.
