Junkboy - 'The Dynamics Of Modern Communication' (Moshi Moshi)

3/5

By: Matt Tomiak

Junkboy - 'Dynamics...'According to their press release, Junkboy's name is 'culled from their mutual appreciation for Japanese pornography and drugs'...

Yet, those drooling at the prospect of mental 'Manga'-style mayhem and crazed substance abuse-fuelled rock n' roll debauchery will be sorely disappointed. For, next to Junkboy, bands like Alfie sound positively uncivilised.

For the most part a solely instrumental affair, 'TDOMC' is a three quarter of an hour long cruise through the serene waters of chill-out. All utterly seamless - indeed, there's a track called 'ivebeenlooking@u4solong'. Mmm, modern.

Evocative of Air or the Super Furries at their most laid-back, this is placid aural pleasure at its very best.
