Those pesky primates Gorillaz have teamed up with further animals of the hairy variety - the Space Monkeyz - for this, a one-off single to promote the dub-reworking of the animated cartoonsters' huge-selling debut-LP, conveniently also out at around this time.
The provided remix of the once guitar-rock based 'M1A1' into a trumpet-parping, pre-ska based number - even featuring ex-Specials member Terry Hall on additional vocals - marks an interesting transition, whilst the flip-side of 'Slow Country' has had its sunny keyboards decked out with bonus-percussion and U Brown's mightily over-riding trad-dub commentary.
More likely a spin-off for ole' Albarn to further descend into his love of world-music rather than allow this to serve as a straight-out commercial venture, the latest Gorillaz project is best left for the extreme fans - or those that want to revisit times gone by in a modern stylee, mon.
