Kaito - 'Montigola Underground' (Devil In The Woods)
3/5

AH-HAH!!!
Infinitely cooler than Alan Partridge, yet still hailing from that same vast expanse of nothingness (Norfolk - no, it's a lovely place, really), the two guys and two gals who comprise Kaito are not only something of an anomaly in their home-county, but also the seemingly-limitless contemporary garage-rock scene.
Their trick of keeping distinctive is via the fusion of dulcet-vocals, courtesy of singer Nikki Colk, along with sweet melodies to the now-commonplace mix of distortion n' overdrive. Possessed of a chaotic, rambunctious charm, Kaito's 7-track second semi-album is an interesting take on a hackneyed blueprint; and certainly recommended listening for those few who enjoyed Elastica's 'The Menace' LP, at any rate.
Sometimes, as proven in this, the formula for successful guitar-bashing certainly doesn't make for a complex devising.
