Harry - 'So Real' (Telstar)
3/5
By: Toby L

A record that can't decide whether it should be the natural coalition of Madonna's sexy sassiness amidst Garbage's indie-rock twiddling, not to mention with the added twist of Deborah-Blondie's own vocal-charm, Harry has decided to shove all three such notions in the pot and form this, latest-45, 'So Real'.
A track whose crossover-potential could reign some considerable promise, its highly infectious choral swath of modern-technological noodling is interspersed by the blonde bombshell's own lyrics of expectedly self-centred neurosis during the toned-down verses, altogether serving a calculated, if slick all-over effort. A mixed-up result for a mixed-up world, you could do a lot worse than create Harry as a serious rival to Stefani or S Manson as a female, cult alt-icon of modern times.
