Haven - 'Say Something' (Radiate)

During early live performances last year, it was clear which track was the highlight in Haven's catalogue of emotive tender-rock - 'Say Something': which has finally been designated a well-called-for single release.
Although the guitar that chimes and the bass that fervently flows is present, marking a far-from-abstract take on penning a beautiful tune, why change the formula of what is effectively classic song-writing? As if the musical content itself wasn't enough, singer Gary Briggs can croon with the best of them, for his mighty range-filled falsetto is the most uplifting new vocal to hit the UK scene since, actually, Starsailor's James Walsh.
What this amounts to is a hugely charismatic and moving number, the form of which has been missing from the charts for too much time. Thus, if we all clamp together and make our move to that local music-shop to provide it with a purchase, then we'll be safe in the knowledge that we're doing our bit to support worthy, up and coming talent.
