The way this band has evolved really does beggar belief...
It's hard to credit that little over four years ago, Idlewild were engaged in making a (rather ace) million-miles-per-hour punk thrash racket, such is the mature, elegant grace of 'American English'. Simply dripping with class, alongside Roddy's eloquent lyrics of identity and self-discovery topping this off, you're unlikely to hear a more tasteful top-20 hit all year.
