InMe - 'Crushed Like Fruit' (Music For Nations)
3/5
By: Toby L

A part of the fast-rising rat-pack of British, angst rock-groups with a wail in their throat and a fuzzed-up guitar by their side, InMe are perhaps one of the country's more promising exports, bringing with them just two, acclaimed single-releases in their back-catalogue, yet a string of sell-out tour-dates and a closely-supportive fan-base.
Effectively, this is a formula we've been confronted with before, i.e. disaffected, pissed-off kids exert their dirty laundry in public, and a similar generation without a musical-ability spit back their adoration, relating to the tales of deception and annoyance. But name one time when it's been as elevating and anthemic as this in recent memory, with almost blasphemingly loud riffs and juddering, erratic drums and bass, all topped off with Dave McPherson's almost nut-crackingly accomplished falsetto/drawl combo.
Capable stuff - just move the vase full of flowers from the table as you mosh around the room.
