JJ72 - 'Formulae' (Columbia)
4/5
By: Toby L

From the stadium-filling guitar to the aloof screech of Mark Greaney's all-commanding, domineering Irish croak, this is the stuff of classic, modern alt-music.
So, just a typical outing for JJ72 then, a group that doesn't understand the meaning of 'subtlety', and a trio whose wild outlook on untamed melody and hard-edged distortion is still able to create a chorus as rousing as that within 'Formulae'. Long may they blow a hole in your roof in such elegant style.
