Kealer - 'God Help Us' (Jive)

For a man that once fronted a band (Stroke, since you ask; once described as 'John Lennon writing with The Prodigy'), Mancunian Jason Kelly's solo-career as Kealer is an altogether more tame beast.
After all, there are the big-hearted, anthemic northern guitars a la Shack on 'God Help Us' and 'Union City Blue', and that's not even taking into consideration the whimsical Coldplay-isms on 'Everytime'. It may all mark some move towards conventionality - but one that could well pay off.
