And following the perfect entrance of the poutingly aggressive 'Black Rooster EP' and good-luck-finding-it rarity of the one-sided 'F**k The People' 7", finally - The Kills release a proper, chart-eligible 45 for mass-appeal.
Not that this is likely to blast its way to the top of the hit parade - VV and Hotel are beyond all that: too devastatingly fierce, dark and brooding, donning with them sludgy riffs and twinning vocals that combine Polly Harvey and deadpan London-ised Beck at long last. Scarily good.
