Kinesis - 'Billboard Beauty' (Independiente)
4/5
By: Toby L

Don't let the opening electronic drums fool you - Kinesis mean business. With their third single to date - and their first on label Independiente - Dave Eringa of Idlewild and Manics' production-duties is once again behind the desk, and the band continue their searing blend of desperate, ear-grabbing, angry indie-rock.
'Billboard Beauty' itself is the latest MTV2-hogging prime slice of articulate, catchy, fully-charged colostomy-bag's worth of sweat, aggression and tension last seen, oh, I dunno, since Nirvana; coupled with Cobain's missus Courtney Love's own Hole - that awesome, rampaging 'Celebrity Skin' thing is exerted here to a T - and you've got yourself the band's first, surefire underground anthem. Good b-side alert, too, however - the deafening Muse riot of 'Dead By Sunrise' is even bettered by its Mogwai/Buckley duelling within the sublime 'Killing With Ease'.
A force to astound, educate and excite, Kinesis' 2003 will see them dominate all, the world over... Is there any space left to say that you originally heard about 'em here first, too?
