Kinesis - 'Forever Reeling' (Independiente)

They're very nearly the finished article, but their rise to this level of excellence has been a joy to follow.
'Forever Reeling' is yet more proof that the determined look in these Bolton boys' eyes wasn't just there out of youthful cockiness, but Kinesis are indeed as good a band as they've long suggested they would be, deserving of their place amongst the forefront of the burgeoning new British rock scene.
Every release so far has hinted that the next one will be even better, and 'Forever Reeling' faithfully follows in that pattern. Consider this carefully though, because this is a fantastic song... Just imagine what the album's going to be like.
It's got the kind of riff that could drown out an earthquake in full flow, and would probably help with the destruction of all the buildings around it if given half a chance. Stop-start dynamics are the name of the game, except it rarely ever pauses for breath, just keeps on getting more intense with every huge chorus. By anyone's standards, this is accomplished stuff, but the fact that Kinesis are so fresh-faced and fearsome with it makes it all the more stirring.
Rock-music never died, it just hasn't sounded this exciting in a while.
