Leaves have returned with this, 'Race', their second single since the limited-edition debut, 'Breathe', sold out in its first week of release back in January of this year. The first taster from their inaugural LP, it's a stunning introduction to a record that could potentially impact on 2002 in a considerable way.
Soaring guitars, nifty bass, and a compelling voice, as possessed by Arnar G, act as the key, wonderful components to a track whose majestic suaveness is only outclassed by a glorious chorus - epic enough for Thom Yorke to lend his grand vocal to. Following tracks 'Alright' and 'Perfect' define the essence of this Icelandic five-piece: experimental, glacial-inspired mood-music of the most intense and thrilling variety.
Let's merely pray the stamina they display within 'Race' can be allowed to run off into future efforts.
