Lemon Jelly's Nick Franglen and Fred Deakin, a duo that know what the punters want at the end of the day, have returned in fine form with new single 'Space Walk': a searing serenade which marches through the grandiose heights that can only be incorporated via the usage of choppy samples and mesmerising acoustic-guitars.
Equally valid b-side 'Pushy', whose enchanting electronica-focussed beats 'n' drums, escalating strings and sublime piano forms an oddly moving piece of music, is further complemented by 'Return To Patagonia' - available on the CD only - a revved-up, train-track like sense of rhythmic-momentum which only occasionally tones down to offer mournful keyboard-pauses and moody saxophone.
The fact that it's all packaged in the 'Jelly's customary style of overblown, lavish dιcor is a mere bonus; after all, the real gem is what lurks behind the outer-shell of this product.
