The Libertines - 'Time For Heroes' (Rough Trade)
5/5
By: Toby L

An obvious single-choice, ever since it first graced stages at the beginning of '02 or was originally heard on the band's sterling debut-LP 'Up The Bracket', 'Time For Heroes' is a romantic, misty-eyed and classic-sounding career-highlight from the boys in the band - and a marvel this all is too, especially when considering the obscure reference to bleeding Wombles.
Still, for Messieurs Barat and Doherty, chief-founders of such understated, inspired rock 'n' roll, 'Time...' is further evidence in the 'Tines saga that just about anything goes. And, truly, when the result is this endearing and magical, you'd be prepared to accept anything they throw our way.
