Living Things - 'The Blackout Generation'

Something must be going on; even when rockfeedback places Living Things' debut-EP amidst the decaying, overplayed turntable and spins the vinyl at the wrong speed, we're still impressed.

Yet, flick to 45, and this gets really cookin' - a classic Steve Albini piece of angry, edgy sleaze-pop with a timid Goth twist. Our new trio are on a mission, too - just look at these titles; 'End Gospel', 'Body Worship'... Not the talk of a band lacking spirit - even if they do bear an uncanny resemblance to BRMC (wait 'til you see the photo... and hear the music).

So it's hardly the spout of true visionaries, yet as proven in the diligent four track bustle showcased here, what LT lack in the way of introductory personality, they more than compensate in spitting, flaring assurance. Show resilience and - very possibly - be destroyed.
