Mankato - 'Wasted'

Derivation and subsequent interpretation is an art in itself; to take one's outside interest and inspiration and then mould its most favourable embers into a new product... Worthy alone, surely? Why, yes.

Darren, aka Mankato, has a worrying tinge of Lennon about him, but it's OK - there's a worrying tinge of indie and dance-pop in there, too. Which works out fine: melodic, infectious and charming.

'I've spent my whole life wasted, but I'm not ashamed of it.'

And seeing as his second single is dedicated to an above theme which rockfeedback saw him in fine context perform at this year's Glastonbury Festival (i.e. that of utter intoxication, nigh-on clinging to the bar), we can only praise the sincerity and accuracy of his statements.
