Mclusky - 'Undress For Success'

Dropping, for a change, the bravado-strewn, knife-edged angst and frothy Welsh-nutter insanity, Mclusky enter knees-up, jaunty Blur terrain on their latest, 'Undress For Success'.

So, even though known for their deeply abrasive, tempestuous and - frankly - unpretty mock-rock, the demonic trio find themselves entering looping guitar-hook territory, each one of the three tracks melding rattling bass and shaky, mildly comedic, vocals with an instant six-string, Pixies-like refrain.

It's a trick they pull off magnificently, if unflatteringly. After becoming (at last) accustomed to their brand of unrelenting, power-punk... just where's the frustrated aggression these days?
