The Music - 'Getaway' (Hut)
4/5
By: Toby L

It's third single-release time from The Music's eponymous debut-LP; 'Getaway', their latest, inevitable top-30 hit, sees the Leeds quartet at full-steam-ahead pace, revelling in their rich washing of formula-one guitars and racing verse-chorus inter-changes, and providing a defining middle finger up to those that thought they were merely a bunch of whiny indie-fans.
'Dragon Song', its sole b-side, continues the effect, misleadingly opening as a standard 'The-Music-by-numbers' dashing of trippy instrumental shoe-gazing before cascading into a vitriolic blast of sound, vocalist Rob Harvey's bellows rampaging and hovering somewhat intrusively above the mix. Awesome.
Stealing accolade from all corners of the world these days, not just their native shores, how much longer this four-piece shall be able to walk off a plane without creating a scene of utter hysteria and thousands of fans throwing their moistened undergarments in their direction can't be a considerable time-spell.
