Nada Surf - 'Hi-Speed Soul' (Heavenly)

It's our bet that Nada Surf are the only guitar-band alive today able to make a song sound as massively tuneful and simultaneously threatening to break out into a sweaty Grohl-esque blast of noise as this, 'Hi-Speed Soul', their second 45 to be lifted from resurgence-LP, 'Let Go'.
Whilst not one of their finer moments, '... Soul' still glides along with a melodic pace and song-writing resilience alongside synths that almost recall a more exuberant state-of-play from New Order. Truly, it's a shock that the masses haven't yet responded quite so open-armed to the innocent 'Surf formula.
