One Minute Silence - 'We Bounce'

There's a vain attempt to be controversial here somewhere; swastikas on the sleeve-artwork, namechecks of rape and killing in the lead-track, and the sort of chugging riffs and tinny keyboards that showcase a band that mean business.

If it weren't for the sheer already-been-mastered kudos of their genre and attempts, then One Minute Silence may be an enthralling proposition; the EP's title track wanders into a fierce, RATM-esque chorus, before subsiding into the toned-down Muse-y lair of a melancholy 'There Is Nothing', and a seriously bleak, self-obsessive 'Paint My Picture'.

Communally, it's by no means a disgrace, unlike certain returning nu-metal stalwarts, but it's still not currently enough to guarantee OMS a proposition more ominously thrilling than a card-game with David Dickenson of 'Bargain Hunt' fame: an action that darker acts should at least go some miles to strive beyond.
