The Polyphonic Spree - 'Light & Day' (679)
4/5
By: Toby L

Almost certainly the final track to be lifted from their revelation of a debut-LP, 'The Beginning Stages Of...', Texas' most elevating The Polyphonic Spree have served us all a beefed-up radio-edit of album highlight and live-furore, 'Light & Day'.
A cacophony of riotous trumpets and choral parts, this is the 'Spree at their most outlandish and best, erupting the beauty of The Delgados with the sheer melodic audacity that has made them so unique and poignant in the current bout of global-depression that has seen dictators rise and spread the woe, as opposed to unite and unify.
Yes, where others dampen and disappoint, The Poly's are a gleaming torch to a hopefully beautiful new future. Enchantment in numbers.
