A call to arms has seldom been as engrossing or, indeed, endearing as 'This Is Our Emergency'.
Chipper female-vox, scraping, Pixies guitars and gentle panache, Pretty Girls Make Graves conjure helplessly alt-pop as instantly accomplished, tricky and rollicking as it gets.
Thankfully, the remainder of the EP continues the pace - a spiralling, toned-down Trail of Dead-esque 'Speakers Push The Air', art-fuzz-noise-rock of 'All Medicated Geniuses' and quietly pulsating 'Blue Lights' completing the collection, each with equal admirable finesse and aplomb.
