The Rain Band - 'Easy Rider' (Temptation)

4/5

By: Toby L

The Rain Band - 'Easy Rider'

The Rain Band seem to concoct devilishly filthy, swaggering slabs of pounding digi-electro-pop-baggy noise as if they were mere pies in a northern-based pie-factory. Our sumptuous treat, too.

And, seemingly, they just know it - 'I helped you open up your eyes again,' Richard 'the cheekbones' Nancollis wistfully croons on sultry b-side 'Underdogs', whereas our lead 'Easy Rider' is every bit as rigidly monumental, grand and naggingly infectious as the tunes once conjured by their prior premier-league of Manc-heroes.

Dark enough to appeal to the noodlers and melodic to an extent to satisfy to the indie-purists, The Rain Band's potential customer-base is, at present, shockingly limitless.
