Having demonstrated their almost uncannily precocious tunesmithery on a self-released mini album entitled 'You Set The Scene' last year, Portsmouth quartet Ricky release their first single proper again on their own Bod the Mod label.
Displaying yet more evidence of an aptitude to coax something timeless from the simplest of tools and the most time-honoured of influences, the warm, melodic classicism of The Byrds, Teenage Fanclub and Travis are all invoked in this two and half minute nugget of jangle-pop
loveliness.
With kindred spirits The Thrills set to sky rocket in 2003, Ricky's ascent may well be quite imminent.
