Plaintive balladeering from Nottingham's usually ultra-intense rockers. Goodness... But, fear not - Six By Seven haven't turned all soft on us.
For their new single 'All My New Best Friends', from their current 'The Way I Feel Today' LP, just think Coldplay with a sneering, bitter edge: 'I knew you wouldn't make it in the end,' gloats Chris Olley softly - a message to all those that find superficial comfort in life's instant, 'just-add-water' pleasures. Reassuringly, there's still no danger of Six by Seven falling into that category just yet - they're a much subtler, far more acquired taste.
