Stabb - 'This Joke's On Me'

The most violent band-name this side of Smashing Pumpkins (possibly...), Stabb are Sweden's latest entrants into the UK indie-pop market: a foursome with a real, fierce sensibility for growling grrrl vocals - thank you, Belinda Kordic - and guitars perfectly tuned to the sound of 'scene-hoppers'.

And, oh, isn't it frantic stuff? Kordic doesn't so much sing as grate as she battles through highly mixed bass, drums and brash chords whilst simultaneously delivering a bizarrely charismatic presence. It's clearly early days, though, and this is a fair introduction by all means, yet there'll have to be slightly more added to the picture in order for this quartet's heads to float above water in this very populated sea of activity at present.
