Mmm, Stereophonics again is it, replete with the Welsh bloke that thinks he's from the Deep South, with the super blimmin' husky voice that used to be sexy but now verges on un-expressionless?
Still, the Phonics' popularity soars and still their songs seems to become more laid back and just lacking in the pizzazz and fieriness that propelled them to the top to begin with. Third single off their fourth album, 'You Gotta Go There To Come Back' is progressively bluesier... again. Yes, bands evolve and take on other dimensions, styles and focus, but our trio seem to have gone there and never come back. Take this with a Southern Comfort watching the dust bowls, on your front porch and you'll love it. Listen to it in an indie-club in South Wales, and - somehow - we don't think it'll go down as well.
