Suede - 'Obsessions' (Sony)
4/5
By: Toby L

Don't write them off, please; this band still sell out shows, obtain top-20 singles (heck, their last single 'Positivity' even scaled number one in no less than three countries), and consistently prove their worth - 'Obsessions' being the latest evidence of their original relish and bombast still surviving in relatively untainted condition.
Bernard Butler guitars (er, played by his successor Richard Oakes), harmonica a la to The Smiths' 'Hand In Glove' and a melody as timeless as any of their previous top-5 wielders, with their latest 45, Brett Anderson and co. have arrived back on form; yet, with little airplay to its credit, nor an overly exasperating marketing-campaign certainly in their native UK, you wonder if this is a treasure solely for the fans in the know.
Disappointing, because Suede's present sparkle and shine is gleaming as brightly as their original star.
