Supersuckers - 'Rock & Roll Records (Ain't Selling This Year)' (Mid-Fi)

3/5

By: Clara Burtenshaw

Supersuckers

First-timers - if you think you've heard Supersuckers' break-neck paced riffs before, you have, namely in the form of New Zealand outfit The D4.

Yet, the 'Suckers were peddling this particular brand of punk-clatter long before: eight years to be precise. Having toured with the likes of the Ramones and Motorhead you'd expect the sound of the bastard son of both. If only. It would be unfair to say that Supersuckers suck superbly, but the younger generation seem to have recycled the old school values far better.

That said, prepare for a frenzied and furious assault on the ears. You'll be thrashing about hell for leather, dripping in sweat and peeling yourself off the floor in no time. Lemmy would be proud.
