System Of A Down - 'Toxicity'

System Of A Down have become somewhat of a phenomenon in the UK in the last couple of years - and with tracks of such excellence as this, it's no surprise why this happens to be the case.

If you thought that they'd never follow up their grand and epic, mad-rock anthem, 'Chop Suey!', you'd be very much mistaken, for this borrows the same formula - i.e. jangly and slow guitar-drenched verses and slow, reflective vocals, which then explode into a chorus of insanity, veering off into every unexpected avenue imaginable - and adds the best drumming you'll hear on a rock record for ages. It's over-the-top, impeccably well-engineered, and begs for the same attention its predecessor stirred up.

Although their System may be Down, the quality of the band's brave endeavour is most definitely on an unshakeable high.
