Tindersticks - 'My Oblivion' (Beggars Banquet)
4/5
By: Toby L

Profligately executed, strings-laden and as smooth as Sean Connery in a PVC-suit, the ever world-weary Tindersticks can surely rest on their laurels under the opaque trust that they're the country's most consistently enthralling, classy depresso-lounge act in present existence.
Not that, with 'My Oblivion', they were likely to be defined as anything else; dreamy orchestral-refrains and sombre guitars and gentle percussion produce the perfect autumnal soundtrack, as the leaves fall from trees, and skies turn to a pungent grey. Eloquent, understated, and simply ageless.
