After a quite frankly unbeatable couple of years, Turin Brakes have hardly wasted time on delivering us the goods once again. A taster from upcoming, second LP 'Ether Song' - still not due 'til February 2003 - this is as roaringly understated and sublime as music gets.
Analogous to their prior top-40 release 'Mind Over Money', typically, affairs are shatteringly beautiful, Olly's voice gliding over a spiralling guitar and hovering amidst a plethora of instrumentation designed to make the heart-a-flutter. It sounds a dangerously safe concoction, yet - to the contrary - points are rewarded in its favour for genuinely soulful intensity.
Positively for us, it seems that the glory shan't cease.
