The Veils - 'Guiding Light' (Rough Trade)
3/5
By: Matt Tomiak

As is appropriate for a record label specialising in well-crafted indie-pop tunesmithery - the ever-enigmatic, frightfully proactive and consistent, Rough Trade - youthful London quartet The Veils' new single fulfils the above criteria in just under three minutes.
Also possessive of a Phil Spector-esque, 'Wall of Sound' 60s production sound. No surprise though really; 'Guiding Light' is produced by one Bernard Butler, whose comeback hit last year with McAlmont - 'Falling' - employed a very similar, lavish technique.
The Veils, certainly - ones to closely follow by sounds of things already.
