Be gone, sweaty, growly pub-rocker!! Come forward, lush, melodious toe-tapper!!
The temptation to criticise Paul Weller's solo-career as somewhat pedestrian is forever countered by the fact that this would be a slur against the man who wrote such fantastic compositions before he'd even reached his mid-20's within The Jam.
Fortunately, 'Leafy Mysteries' finds The Artist Formerly known As The Modfather in pleasantly relaxed mood, 'just waiting for the breeze.' Consequentially, Paul Weller's new single is really very good. Which is indeed a truly warming thing to be able to say.
