Austin, Texas has proven the breeding-ground for some interesting start-ups over the past decade; in the left corner, we have the manically enthralling ... And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, in the right, the bewilderingly cheerful Polyphonic Spree, and - now, stealing centre-stage - Young Heart Attack.
A sonically peculiar merging of Led Zep and Guns 'N' Roses, the band's aims 'to make records that teenagers would get arrested the first time to' seem ambitious on paper - that is, until you belt out the double A-side, frantic, pelvis-shakers of 'Tommy Shots' and 'To The Teeth' in quick succession.
Why they quite grind guitars and soulfully howl so often? 'We've got nothing to lose,' in the second track they respond - and, absolutely, it's invigorating to see an emerging act deal with such matters with this amount of sheer relish and enthusiasm.
