Autamata - 'Tales From My Sanctuary'

'Joyful Lambchop-meets-Lemon Jelly' depicts the sentiment of 'Jive County' all too perfectly; the first track of Autamata's taster EP to the album 'My Sanctuary' to be released early February 2004.

This EP, as well as aptly coming in the form of the dinkiest 3"-digi-pack ever, is extremely, notably intricate and varied in direction and mood. The limpid beauty of 'Out Of This' to the Tetras-inspired 'Fragments', it's dance, it's loved up Sunday afternoons, it's an LSD trip on a CD... all blotchy lights and pleasing sounds.

The sound footage to a Japanese dance-company... Tradition vs. modern city age, mixed and tranquilised... East meets west; new age modernism meets 60s electrica. Yet it's from Ireland and primarily a bloke on his own in a studio, releasing it off his own back. Admirable stuff.
