Ryan Adams - 'So Alive' (Lost Highway)

We'll have to keep an eye on this one. One-time wistful, dreamy, off-kilter country/folksy/indie-ish, foppish city-boy, and - now - a Smiths-ian, soaring crooner, 'So Alive' is a Buckley-Marr hybrid that, shockingly, you'd have anticipated the likes of JJ72 to conjure.
But it's no lesser the better for it; melodic, sweeping, angelic and unashamed, Adam's ascent from mere, prized singer/song-scribe to impacting, stand-alone stalwart seems inevitable these days.
